HHNS is now the Society of St. Vincent de Paul

For more than 30 years, the services at Helotes House of Neighborly Service have provided help and hope to our brothers and sisters in need. These services have been supported by active and associate members and volunteers with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. What began as a small ecumenical ministry consisting of several churches in Helotes, and connected with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, now serves more than 3,600 struggling people a year in Helotes and Northwest San Antonio.

Changing the ministry’s name from the “Helotes House of Neighborly Service” to “Our Lady of Guadalupe Helotes Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul,” will clarify that this ecumenical ministry, while including all churches in the Helotes area, is rooted in the mission and the charism of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul,  “A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.” Our dedicated community of active and associate members and our many volunteers will continue to provide the same services to our brothers and sisters in need through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul including:

  • Food Assistance
  • Emergency Utility Assistance
  • Referrals to Community Resources

We are excited to have a nationally recognizable name for our ministry, which is open to people of all faiths, and that encompasses all the services, we have provided for the last 30 years, to give help and hope to our brothers and sisters who need them the most. Thank you for your support and for helping us build a more just world through faith, friendship, and service to our neighbors in need.
